Fatal Collision -Update

(Guelph-Eramosa Twp, ON.) – On Saturday September 19th, 2009 at about 11:14pm County of Wellington OPP responded to a reported serious collision on Highway 7 east of Rockwood.
 
County of Wellington OPP located this crash on Highway 7 near the Halton Region Townline. This collision involved an eastbound 2007 Saturn and a westbound 2010 Toyota.
 
Members of the Acton Fire Department and Halton Regional Police officers attended to assist. The County of Wellington OPP Traffic Management Unit continued to investigate, along with Western Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators. 
 
Investigation revealed that the Saturn, driven by Debra A. McKnight aged 53 of Georgetown was eastbound on Highway 7 and crossed into the westbound lanes. The Saturn was struck head-on by the westbound Toyota, driven by Gordon Blackmore aged 60 of Guelph. McKnight succumbed to her injuries at Georgetown Hospital, while passenger Robert Woodcock age 68 of Georgetown was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Blackmore was taken to Georgetown Hospital and then air lifted to St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto with non-life threatening injuries.
